The Kura Process
Four steps.
One result.
Most people spend weeks chasing builders who quote different prices from different briefs. We fixed that.
Configure your project and see real prices.
Within 24 hours.
Three vetted local builders introduced.
Comparable quotes, your choice.
Step One
Design your project
online.
Start by telling us what you’re planning. Single storey extension, two storey, or loft conversion. Then choose your size – we give you indicative prices that update in real time as you go, based on real South West build costs.
Next, choose your specification level – Essential or Signature – and your colour palette. Select any add-ons that matter to you: a roof lantern, underfloor heating, a kitchen fit-out. Watch your indicative price update as you go.
Finally, add your contact details and your preferred commencement date. That’s your Kura brief – a complete, standardised specification document that every builder quotes from.
What your brief includes
- Project type, conversion sub-type, and floor area
- Specification level with full inclusions list
- Colour palette across all finishes
- All selected add-ons with individual prices
- Property postcode and location
- Indicative price range shown to the homeowner
- Preferred commencement and contact details
Step Two
We review
your brief.
Once you submit your Kura brief, our team reviews it. We check that the scope is sensible, that the budget is realistic for your chosen spec and size, and that we have the right builders available in your area for your timeline.
If anything needs clarifying – an unusual site, a complex planning position, a very tight timeline – we’ll be in touch before making introductions. We’d rather get it right than rush it.
We review every brief personally. Not an algorithm – a human being who understands the South West building market and the specific challenges of your project type.
Step Three
Meet your
builders.
We introduce you to three builders from our vetted panel – selected based on your project type, your location, your timeline, and your budget. Every builder is:
- Personally vetted – we’ve seen their work and spoken to their previous clients
- Insured to minimum £2m public liability
- Based in or regularly working across your area
- Experienced in your specific project type
Each builder receives your full Kura brief – the same document, the same specification. There’s no ambiguity about what’s being priced.
Our vetting process
We review previous projects in detail – not just photos but build quality, material choices, and attention to detail.
We speak directly to previous clients – not just collect written testimonials.
Current public liability insurance confirmed before any leads are sent.
We follow up after every project. Builders who don’t maintain the standard are removed from the panel.
Step Four
Compare, choose,
and build.
Because all three builders quote from your Kura brief, their quotes are genuinely comparable for the first time. Same project type. Same size. Same spec level. Same add-ons. The only variable is the builder.
You choose who to go with – based on price, on how they communicate, on your gut feeling about who you’d want on your property for 12–16 weeks. No pressure, no cold calls from us, no obligation.
Once you’ve chosen, Kura Spaces steps back. The relationship is between you and your builder. We follow up after the project completes to make sure it was everything it should have been.
What makes quotes comparable
All three builders receive the same project type, size, and specification – so they’re pricing the same job, not their own interpretation of it.
Every add-on is listed and specified – no builder can include or exclude items to make their quote appear better value.
The homeowner has already seen a realistic indicative price range – so each builder knows approximately what the homeowner is expecting.
