About Kura Spaces
Built because the
market was
broken.
Kura Spaces exists because extending a home in the South West was more complicated, more stressful, and more opaque than it had any right to be. We decided to fix that.

Our Story
Good builders exist.
Finding them shouldn’t be hard.
Kura Spaces was founded by someone who spent years in property development watching the same problem play out again and again.
A homeowner decides to extend. They ask around for builders. They get three quotes that bear no resemblance to each other. They have no idea which one to trust, which one understood the brief, or whether any are quoting for the same job. They either choose wrong, pay too much, or give up entirely.
The issue isn’t that there aren’t good builders in the South West. There are – plenty of them. The issue is that the process for connecting good homeowners with good builders was completely broken.
Kura Spaces was built to fix that specific problem. Not to be another directory. A properly curated, properly specified matching service – where the homeowner arrives knowing roughly what their project should cost, and the builder arrives knowing exactly what the homeowner wants.
What We Believe
The principles
we build around.
You should know roughly what your project costs before you speak to a single builder. Not a ballpark. A real indicative price based on actual South West build data.
Three quotes are only useful if they’re quoting on the same thing. Your Kura brief captures your specification in detail so every builder is pricing the same project.
We’d rather have a smaller panel of excellent builders than a large directory of unknown ones. Every builder goes through a thorough vetting process before receiving a single lead.
Why Kura Spaces Is Different
Not a directory.
Not an agency.
Something better.
Most comparison platforms in the building industry are directories dressed up as matching services. Kura Spaces is genuinely different.
On Bark or Checkatrade, customers describe what they want in free text and builders interpret it however they like. On Kura Spaces, every customer completes a detailed specification before anyone is involved. The brief is standardised. Every builder quotes on the same document.
Any builder can list themselves on a directory. Getting onto the Kura Spaces panel requires portfolio review, client references, insurance verification, and an assessment of local planning knowledge.
Kura Spaces only works on extensions and loft conversions at £55,000 and above. Specialising is what lets us vet properly, price accurately, and match well.
Our Commitments
What you can
always expect from us.
The Kura Spaces service will always be free for homeowners. Our builders fund the service through lead fees.
Our indicative prices are built from real data, but they’re not quotes. Every project has site-specific variables that a configurator can’t capture.
You’re under no obligation to use any of the builders we introduce you to. The Kura brief is yours – you can share it with anyone.
After every project completes, we contact the homeowner to ask how it went. Builders who generate consistent issues are removed from the panel.
