Our Builder Panel

The builders
behind
every Kura project.

Every builder on the Kura Spaces panel has been personally vetted. Not listed, not algorithmically approved – personally vetted by us.

Why We Vet

A panel worth
trusting.

Finding a builder you can genuinely rely on for a project of this size is harder than it should be. We’ve done that work so you don’t have to.

We only work with builders who specialise in extensions and loft conversions. Not generalists who take on anything. Not sole traders with a van and a phone number. Experienced, established building companies who understand structural work, building regulations, and what a good finish looks like.

Our panel is built carefully and maintained carefully. We follow up after every project and remove builders who don’t maintain the standard. The feedback loop is what keeps quality high over time.

Our Vetting Process

How we know
they’re good.

01
Portfolio Review

We review previous projects in detail – not just photographs but the quality of the build, the materials used, and the attention to detail in the finish. We’re looking for evidence of consistent standards, not a single impressive showpiece.

02
Direct Client References

We speak directly to previous clients – not just collect written testimonials. We ask about communication, budget, timeline, and whether they’d use the builder again. Two references minimum before any builder joins the panel.

03
Insurance Verification

Current public liability insurance at minimum £2m is confirmed before any builder receives a single lead. We re-verify annually. A builder whose insurance lapses is removed from the panel until it’s reinstated.

04
Ongoing Performance

After every project completes we contact the homeowner to ask how it went. Builders who generate consistent issues – communication problems, budget overruns, quality concerns – are removed from the panel. Getting on is not a permanent position.

What We Look For

The standard every
Kura builder
must meet.

Getting onto the Kura Spaces panel isn’t automatic. We vet every builder personally before they receive a single lead. Here’s what we require.

Minimum 5 years experience in residential extensions or loft conversions in the South West
At least three completed comparable projects – reviewed in detail
Two or more homeowner references willing to speak to us directly
Current public liability insurance – minimum £2m
Based in or regularly working across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol, or Bath
Capacity to take on projects at £55,000 and above
Response to leads within 2 working days – always

We built Kura Spaces because we know good builders exist in the South West – and that the existing routes to finding homeowners don’t work well for either party. Directories reward volume over quality. Lead aggregators sell the same contact to ten builders.

Kura Spaces is different because the homeowner arrives with a proper brief, a realistic budget, and genuine intent to build. That’s worth paying for – and it’s what justifies our vetting process.
